We can all be forgiven if we skipped Lent this year. After the last 12 months no one wants to give up any more simple pleasures! But even without Lent, Easter still feels like a slight relief this year, a chance in spring to look forward with some hope.
The weather is picking up, people have been hitting the beach and parks, and the longer, sunnier evenings should give us a lift (as long as you don’t hear “grand stretch”). And we can be confident that most of us will have a vaccine before next winter.
Last Easter, we were all still in emergency mode. We’d gone through the early panic stages — the run on toilet roll, bulk-buying hand sanitiser, downloading Zoom for the first time. All while our coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants had shut down — the places we usually go to share problems and let off steam.

At Coffee Perfection, we’re looking back on a year of upheaval and challenges. When coffee shops, bars and hotels closed in mid-March last year, 95% of our daily business was gone right away — like thousands of businesses and workers around the country. But we’ve been inspired to adapt to the ever-changing ‘new normal’. From our coffee bags, to gift ideas, we’ve tried to maintain the social aspect of a good cup of coffee. It’s been a long winter, but a hot steaming mug and a friend or family member on a laptop screen has probably helped you through a few midweek dips.
So we hope we’ve helped some of you connect with loved ones in the last year — a few kind words over a brew always helps. We’re grateful for all the support from you in the last 12 months, from our online customers to our loyal wholesale clients. We’ll meet again in person soon!
But until then, it’s time to loosen the belt and get started on your Easter treats — well, that’s eggs-actly what we’re about to do! Don’t worry, with all this extra sunshine there’ll be more time for park runs (all in good time, though).
Happy Easter from the Coffee Perfection team.
