Our Commitment to Sustainability
We have always had a commitment to sustainability, we would like to share that commitment with you.
Along with our roastery we have made changes in our business to the help sustainability in coffee farming, reduce the use of plastics and help the environment.
Our roastery have created sustainable coffee supply chains with producers in South America, Africa & Indonesia for over 10 years.
It is unfortunately common in our industry for roasters to "commit" to a harvest of coffee beans and not return the following year.
Our approach is different, once we find the right quality we create a "Direct Supply Chain" making a commitment to the farms future.
This makes our coffee sustainable, giving our producers a bright and fruitful future.
We use the latest technology in coffee roasting not only to make our coffee taste better, but our roaster is the one of the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly in Europe.
Our coffee beans are roasted using a "Hot Air" method, this allows us to roast at lower temperatures to lock in more flavour. It also speeds up our roasting process by 40% using less energy in the process.
Our roaster is also fitted with a catalytic converter. This turns Carbon Monoxide into environmentally friendly Carbon Dioxide allowing us to release these gases safely into the environment.
We made a conscious decision in our business to move away from cheap mass produced plastic disposable cups in February 2018.
We teamed up with a local Irish company to manufacture our cups in Ireland. This not only has put more business back into our economy but we are proud to say it has reduced the use of over 1m plastic cups each year.
Our water filters can be regenerated, recycled and returned to market making it a genuinely green filter providing not only protection for your equipment, but protecting the environment and keeping our oceans and landfill free from plastic.
By committing to only use these filters we have prevented over 300 plastic cartridges going to landfill in the last 12 months.
